You may or may not need those types of benefits depending on your needs. It has some features found in programs like Obsidian and Roam Research. Since it's free to test while in beta, it can't hurt to see what TheBrain 12 Beta is about. If you're interested, I recently spent a month testing out Obsidian (I didn't stick with it just because I'm not looking to maintain a second brain), and made a video explaining the pros and cons of Obsidian. Notion has backlinks too, but it doesn't have the visualization tools to make them powerful. From what I've seen, a second brain works best when there are backlinks to connect your ideas and visualize them in a graph (like in Roam). Unlike apps like Evernote that make you pay for a premium subscription, Obsidian is 100% free. Depending on the type of information you want to store, or your preferences for features you like, Obsidian allows you to design your workspace however you like! Especially if you have personal notes or things you want to keep private in a 'second brain,' this could be a huge asset. It's secure since your notes are stored on your computer's file systems.I've tried Notion, Roam, and Bear before, but Obsidian stands out in a few ways I'd highly recommend Obsidian for a second-brain.
